Children’s Ministry

The Children’s Ministry Team is putting together an evening of Christmas fun for kids on Friday, December 5 from 6:00-8:00 PM. We’ll have lots and lots of different crafts that kids can make, some games to play, and pizza!

The event is open to children ages 4-11 years. The cost per child is $10 and all children must be pre-registered and prepaid, no walk-ins. To register a child please click here.  No registrations will be accepted after December 3.

We believe that children are the church of today and tomorrow and therefore integrate them, with their God-given gifts and talents, into the full life of the church.  We welcome all children to explore their faith through a variety of Children’s Ministry opportunities:

Sunday mornings

We welcome children in worship and celebrate their full presence in our church family! We offer a ‘Grace Space’ within the sanctuary designed especially for children to engage in age-appropriate ways during the service. Our Grace Space includes soft blocks, books, quiet toys, and coloring pages. It allows children to move, play, and explore while still experiencing the rhythms and sounds of worship.

Additionally, Infants and toddlers (2/3 years and younger) may play in a safe and welcoming environment in our nursery.  Children are welcome to stay in the sanctuary or nursery for the entire service, head to the nursery after the children’s message, or whenever the parents feel is the timing is right. The nursery is staffed each week by a loving and caring adult who has completed our Ministry with Minors training and a background check. Another adult or teen volunteer is also present.

If they are interested, PreK through 5th grade children may head down to our Children’s Worship room after the children’s message for their own program that includes Bible reading, games, stories, songs, art, prayer and other age-appropriate activities to help them grow closer to God. All of the children learn/worship together. In this setting, the older children often offer mentorship and help to the younger children. Children’s Worship is usually led by our Director of Children’s Ministry or an adult volunteer who has completed our Ministry with Minors training and a background check. We believe that children grow in faith by being part of the worshipping community, so on occasion, there will be no Children’s Worship available and children will be expected to worship with their families.

Additional Programs

We offer various fellowship, mission, and faith formation activities and events for children and their families throughout the year.

Another part of our Children’s Ministry is our half-day, tuition-based, school-year preschool for children ages 30-months through 5 years. Please see our Preschool page for more information about our preschool.
