I have been a Presbyterian all my life. I was born and raised in Toledo Ohio, and graduated from the University of Toledo. I have lived in Michigan since 1969 and am the mother of three sons. I became Geneva’s secretary in 1989. My ministry at Geneva is an expression of my life-long love for Christ’s church. In addition to my duties as secretary, I enjoy teaching a variety of classes at Geneva, mostly in the area of spiritual formation and prayer. Along with the Pastor, I co-facilitate the Elijah House School for Prayer Ministry that is hosted at Geneva. I also participate in a variety of ways in the multi-media ministry and have written a number of dramas that have been used in worship.

I am delighted to join the children’s ministry team and be part of the Geneva family. I come to Geneva with several years of experience in Children’s Ministry and Christian Education. I also have the privilege of developing skills in worship leadership and providing congregational care. I am looking forward to focusing my ministry on children and their families.
Jim and I grew-up and graduated from schools in Rochester, New York . We have been active in Protestant churches all our lives. We spent 15 years living in New England before relocating to Michigan. I have worked in social services agencies as a counselor and community educator. Serving in ministry is both my professional role as well as my personal passion. I am particularly excited to develop meaningful relationships with children and their parents .
Children are so open to experiencing their faith and seeking to know and share the Good News. Supporting their parents as they strive to raise spiritually and emotional healthy children is essential in our complicated world. Planting seeds of faith and nurturing growth and tending to God’s garden is the role of the church. The Bible verse that speaks to me when I can’t sleep at 3:00 am is Romans 8:39 “nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus the Lord.” .

I have been attending Geneva over 17 years. I have had many roles as a volunteer at this church. I worked with the youth as a Sunday school teacher, Children’s Worship leader and Breakfast Club leader.
I have been on session as fellowship elder and clerk and am currently serving my third term on session as worship elder. Outside my church life, I am a tutor and have also been an elementary teacher. I live in Plymouth and a wife and mother to two teenagers. I am excited about starting this new position at Geneva and look forward to creating a dynamic mid-high ministry.
